They are few and far between, with all the new home gyms :)

For dumbbells, I'd look into adjustable, assuming you want a range of weight. It makes it super easy to do circuits, and really reduces the "footprint" with several weight increments vs. single weights. We scored a set of these by Core Home Fitness:

Very well reviewed, very compact, quickly adjust from 5-50 lbs each, in 5 lb increments (set them on the base, rotate the grip). They're always "sold out", but what they do is offer a lottery, where you register, and they pick X number of people to offer them to, of course, some people get them just to resell, so you'll see them for 2-3X the retail price on FleaBay. These are mostly sold direct AFAIK.

There are also products from Bowflex (SelectTech 552) and a few other major known brands that also get very good reviews, consistently recommended. I'd be careful on some no-name-brands, I've read a few reviews about failures, which could potentially leave a big lump on your head. BowFlex also makes an adjustable kettlebell which is pretty cool.

A good brand resistance band can be a good option too, I still prefer actual weights for many exercises, so we use our bands to compliment the workout, do things not as easily done with weights (like overhead lat pulldowns). GoFit is a solid brand, good components (clips, grips, anchors), good range of options, they show up at your usual suspect online retailers, we scored ours from Target.com

You can’t find weights/dumbbells in our area either. Your best option what I found, is if you have local sporting good stores that sell used equipment, they frequently will have used weights come into stock, because they’re paying a higher percentage per pound due to the demand to the customer (But it depends on the condition of the weight and brand helps), but they sell almost instantaneously. What they can do (At least this is what ‘Super sports’ does), is they can put you on a wait-list for a specific type of weight that you’re looking for and then they call you, will hold it for XYZ amount of time. Some places even changed their waitlist policies, because weights sell so quick, they would rather just sell to whoever is interested at the time.

But, for what it’s also worth, there’s some really good ‘life hack‘ videos on making make-shift weights with at home materials that you can purchase from out Home Depot or Lowe’s, and it may not be ideal, but it’s manageable, being that exercise equipment will be in short for quite some time.

Not just weights these days but even Lysol Disinfectant spray is $23 per can :oops:. Weights, bicycles and exercise equipment out of Asia are mainly on backlog now with full containers till end of October.

i recently found our set of fitness bands as we were cleaning our closet. I spent about $7 at Home Depot and now have an adjustable setup in our garage.

Wife has been dying to get a barbell. Finally found one on rogue's website. you basically have to check constantly because they sell out immediately.

Anybody score a set? As expected, they're sold out today (I'm sure that probably happened shortly after the email was out yesterday ...)
