My 5,1 Mac Pro took the proverbial dump last week. Power supply. I was hoping to make it last another year (or until the MP 7,1 comes out) but I'm not in a mood to put more money into it.

I know there are strong arguments for repairing it, but I'm not going to. Once I decided that, I moved on to Thunderbolt 2 external storage (OWC) and have all the cMP disks in it, hooked to my rMBP, which is also driving my Dell U2711 happily. I might get a retina iMac -- I was traveling for 3 weeks with the rMBP (which I had never used as my main machine) and text on my Dell looks just horrible to me now (I do text many hours each day). But the 5k monitor scene remains murky and I don't want to wait for it to clear up.

So:

I was thinking of offering the entire processor tray (hex core W3680 plus 24 gb of OWC memory) as a unit. That way, a person who wanted to upgrade a quad core 5,1 but wasn't technical could get it done easily. What do you folks think a reasonable price for the complete, functioning tray would be?

I also have a MacVidCards 7970, almost new . . . how much for that?

Sonnet Tempo Pro.

The 7970 and Sonnet card were new in June of this year.

Highpoint 1144CM, maybe 2 years old.

If I weren't out here in the middle of the Pacific I'd try selling case and logic board, but shipping would be a killer.
