Hey guys!

I was doing a little research on the 1st generation iPod nano's and I'm just curious as to what my iPod is worth. I have a 4GB black 1st gen iPod Nano that was manufactured in August of 2006, and is still sealed in box.

I browsed through my local classifieds and found used 1st gen nanos running upwards of $50 and found BNIB nanos on ebay for upwards of $1500.

My question is: Is my iPod considered a "collectors item" and how much do you think its worth (resale value)?

I had one of these and turned it into Apple a couple of years ago for a brand new replacement. The 1st gen nanos had a potential battery problem that made them a safety hazard. For safety and liability reasons you should probably turn the nano into Apple and see if they'll replace it with a current gen one.

I've sent an older used nano in for a replacement, I'm just curious to see if this nano has any "real value" as some may see it as a collectors item as it's 1st gen.

As you yourself say, SOME might view it as a collectors item. The reward you get for finding such a person is selling it for crazy amounts of money. But that is not very easy.

It boils down to askign yourself if you have time to spare and try to find a collector with deep pockets.
