Pricing out 2010 mbp 15" and 2011 mbp 15"?

Which option is better?

Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.53GHz Intel Core i5 $1,489.00 CND + tax

NEW 15-inch: 2.0 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 $$1,749.00 CND + tax (Student discount)

Saving of about $300 CND which could maybe get me 8GB of ram upgrade and a small SSD drive (not from apple).

I love to do some gaming on the new mbp (COD and and I do 3D maya and many graphic software. Not enough money for 15-inch: 2.2 GHz. It seem the NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M is better than AMD Radeon HD 6490M, but how much difference would the quad-core compare to the i5?

I'm in exactly the same boat. Either refurbished high end 2010 15" or the base model 2011 15"
