print from mac to canon i450 connected to pc

i have my powerbook and xp pc connected to a router. i share my canon i450 printer and i can see it on my mac. when i print from my mac to the shared printer the light on the printer starts blinking but doesnt get any farther than that.
does any on here know how to fix it or succeded at it yourself,
