My G5 developed a problem I have not seen before. When I try to print a document, nothing happens. When I open the printer window, it shows the print job in the queue but the status says, "stopped." If I click on the utility button, it brings up an error window that says "printer utility quit unexpectedly."

This same condition exists no matter what printer I connect to. These printers all function normally on my other computers. I have reinstalled the drivers and re-started the computer and the printer, but no change. Everything else on the computer works normally.

Normally, if I try to print and i forgot to turn the printer on, I get a communication error. But now, I can turn the printer off and even disconnect all the printers from the computer and the printer window still says, "Printer ready."

i'm stumped. Has anyone seen this before?
