Hi, Im running a g5 2.5 dual server and I need some help with Panthers print queue service.

I want to set it up so it prints to file a ps file to a hot folder, I would I go about doing this?

example: I want the file to go to Customer Files/rip_folder/

I know you can put "local" for a destination but I dont know where it goes or how to select a specific drive and folder.

Thanks for the help everyone!

PS as in PhotoShop or PS as in Post Script?

There's a couple of ways... do you have Acrobat (full version)?

What printer (or plotter) are you using when not ripping to disk?

mischief Im talking about postscript files

I do have the full version of acrobat, but Im printing from a different program. which is sending the file to the G5 Server Print Queue. What Im trying to do is set the New printer queue up to print a ps file to a hot folder set up on one of the drive of the server. From there the PS file is used by another program...

hope this helps.

Hmm... so really you're looking at more of a save-to action than a print-to action...

Is the second program a pro-Rip for offset or the like? Or are you concerned with sharing files among office workers (multiple graphic artists.

There's slightly different situations that make for very different solutions. :)

Ya the second program is a rip program that takes ps files via a hot folder. so I want to printer to print to file to said folder.

heh sorry for the long wait on a reply... its been a long week.
