hi there,
i'm trying to print wirelessly to my deskjet
i want to print a photo on 10x15cm photograhic paper
i can't find settings for that
all i can see is the A list and some wierd names that mean nothing to me

How is your deskjet configured? Is it connected to a wireless print server? Does it include a wireless print server? What protocol(s) are you trying to use to connect to it? Does it support wireless any any way, shape, or form regardless?

Orrr... if it is already configured..

there is a drop down box in the print dialog box that manages print settings.

my deskjet is connected to my pc laptop via usb and my pc laptop is connected via ethernet to the house's wireless network
so i'm trying to access the printer wirelessly through the house network
i can print a4 pages no problem
but i can't find settings to change the paper size to photo

Are you using the proper print driver for your printer? Your File/Print dialog box uses a pop-up menu to select any of the paper sizes and types that your printer supports.

i'm accessing the printer wirelessly connecting to a wireless pc network
i have chosen the general gimp setting for deksjet 5100 series and it prints
a4 black and white but not colour or other sizes,in the print dialog box i get various types i don't know.
this screen shot is what i get when i try to print from word
dunno, this thing is pissing me off
i can print properly if i connect it via usb,but that's not what i want to do

and this is what i get from page setup
i downloaded some software from hp.com but it's got two connectivity
options, usb and over network with an IP
i tried my computer's IP but it couldn't find it
would the printer have an IP of its own?
it's not connected to the router,it's connected on my pc
i'm baffled :(

If you print your photo from within iPhoto, the dropdown boxes will give you photo sizes. I believe you can create your own custom sizes as well. Is this what you want to do?

i can set the size of the photo, but the size of the paper is still a4 :)
plus it's gonna come out b&w like everything else :(
