sorry you know on a pc how the printer cable theres two screw and a plug end much like an avg screen end is there a adapter to go on that so its possible to plug into either usb firewire ?? as i have an imac

It sounds like you may have an old-fashioned parallel printer - unless it has a USB socket as well (most modern printers do), you can't use it with a Mac.

For what it's worth an increasing number of Windows PCs are now USB only too...
