Hi, I am not a very techie person and am having alot of difficulty reading all those terms that I have no idea what they mean.

So I have a konica Minolta Pagepro 1400W.. a pretty old printer (3 years). I wonder if it is compatible with mac. I am getting some conflicting answers on google, one saying that only windows machine is compatible with it. And then there's another site which direct me to a site to download something called min12xxw. I dun understand anything that's stated on that site and would like some help with it. Here's the site:

http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/macosx/min12xxw

At the bottom it is written:

Printers

The min12xxw installer for Mac OS X ncludes support for 5 printers.

* Minolta PagePro 1200W
* Minolta PagePro 1250W
* Minolta PagePro 1300W
* Minolta PagePro 1350W
* Minolta PagePro 1400W

Does this mean that my printer can become compatible with mac? and do I download this min12xxw? And I have the installation disc for this printer, what should I do with it?

Have you tried just plugging the printer in? Every printer I've used with my iBook/MacBook has just worked when connected, I've never had to install any other software package.

If you want the added functions like ink level checking and all that, you may need a driver pack, but OS X is pretty good with printers out of the box.

Oh I am still waiting for my Macbook to arrive. I'm just concern about it ^^ I guess I will test it out first.

ohman.. i finally got my macbook.. and my printer apparently doesn't work..THis is what it says when i try to print:

Your printer or its driver may not be set up corectly or there may be a problem with the network connection. You may need to adjust your printer settings. There may be a bad connection betweenn your computer and printer =.=

Does this meant hat my printer in incompatible? And the website that i posted on my first postin this thread... what exactly is this min12xxw?
