printer options mavericks

Mac OSX Mavericks 10.9 — printer options not fully operational with "Pages” version 5.0 app, mail, notes, preview and contacts app : graphics, paper, about — are crossed out.

Any help gratefully received.

What make and model of printer are you using?

You may need to repair your printer drivers. First time I tried printing after upgrade the printer refused and said I needed to repair. Entered admin username and password and it said it was "Repairing Permissions". This did not seem to ever complete so force quit the printer app and retried printing: all OK
