printer problems

I recently restored my software on my G4 notebook. I have OS X 10.3.9. When I tried to reinstall my printer, it tells me that I do not have Mac OS 9 or later needed to install the printer. It worked before I restored my software. Why won't it work now?

Can anyone help?
