Hi, I'm running a 10.4.11 G4 iMac with an infuriating printer problem.

When I try to print from Word, or any other program for that matter, I get a message like this;
Word cannot print due to a problem with the current printer. Make sure you have a printer selected in Print Center. You may need to print again or adjust your printer settings.
.

The correct printer is selected in Print Center. When I tried adding the same printer again in Print Setup Utility I got this message;
An error occurred while trying to add the selected printer. successful-ok-conflicting-attributes.
This happened even after I deleted said printer from the list and tried adding it again.

Please help MR! Oh, its a Canon MP160 btw.

Does the printer work on any other computer?
Are there updated printer drivers available from Canon?
Is the USB cable flaky?

Thanks v. much for responding.

The printer used do test prints from the iMac (until I deleted it from the printer list). It will print from the Macbook though.

USB cable's perfect btw. I think it has the latest drivers too! Any other suggestions?

Thanks a mil for the help!
