I have a little HP "M14-M17" (as it says in the printer setup area) laserjet. It works great on my Windows laptop... BUT, that thing took a dump last night so it's getting shipped off for repair. That means I need to finally get the printer to work on my Mac. But it doesn't.

It shows up in the printer setup dialog as it should. When I go to print something, the print queue opens up. It says "connected to printer" and the little blue line starts growing. Then it says "printing complete" and disappears. And the printer just sits there with its thumb up its... well, you know.

I tried resetting the print system per Google. I tried rebooting and all that jazz. Mr. Printer just doesn't want to do is job. I've of course fiddled with the printer... it shows online, nothing is jammed, toner cartridge is good, etc, etc. I'm out of ideas. So here I am.

Anything else I can try? Thanks guys.

They appear to be current. I had to update the HP Smart app. It now complains that it can't "find" the printer even though the Mac system says it's online and appears to see it just fine. BTW it's setup for USB, and I used the same USB cable on the windows laptop without issue.

Have you tried to set up the printer with a WiFi connection?
The HP Easy Start app should walk you right through the setup.
