Printer & Scanner with MBA

Am new to Mac and have discovered that Canon doesn't support my pixma 2400 printer and Lide 25 scanner. Does anyone know if there are fixes to get them working with MBA OSX Lion, or will I have to buy new printer & scanner?

For scanning, their is a paid app called VueScan that supports almost every scanner every made by the big name companies.

Also, image capture app in your utilities folder can work with many scanners. Try that first, its free and already on your computer it doesn't have all the options of VueScan but it depends how much you scan and if you would find VueScan's extranfeaturesnworth paying for...
