Printer setup

I have an older Mac using OS X 10.3 and the harddrive is loaded with a lot of stuff back to 98 when I was using OS 9. Anyway, I have been attemting to connect to my printer(I am a single user) for some time and nothing seems to work. I have again downloaded from HP the driver but not sure it even ended up where it belongs. Print Setup Utility does not help at all. I am hooked to the printer via the RJ-45 jacks. Any help with this matter will be more than appreciated. Jack jrl@nf.sympatico.ca
 
Is the printer on the network or do you have it just connected to your machine. Can you ping the printer? We just need a little more details to help you...
