Printer sharing over airport btwn 10.3.9 & 10.5.1

I can't get the printer sharing to work.
I am using a Canon MP780 (multipupose) with drivers installed on both machines.
The printer is usb connected to my older PowerBook G4 running 10.3.9 and I am wanting to share it with my Intel2coreduo iMac but it doesn't show up even. HELP.
Is this a know issue with Leopard? It worked great with my PowerBook and eMac both running 10.3.9.
