I have a brand new Brother DCP-J525N printer/scanner. It is connected to the wireless network. However, when I try to print from my MacBook Air (OS Lion 10.7), it states:
"Software for this printer is available from Apple. Would you like to download and install it?"
I click "Download and install" and then this message appears:
"The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printers manufacturer for the latest software."
I live in Japan and do not read any Japanese. The printer manual, guide and CD are all in Japanese. This is relatively easy to overcome as the user guides and set up guides are available online. However, I am not sure were to get the driver software from. The Japanese Brother website can be translated through google translate but the crucial drop-down menus remain in Japanese. I have emailed Brother and am still waiting a response. Can I download the driver software from their UK website even though the printer was purchased in Japan and I reside there?
This is my first time installing a printer to my network. I have read on other forums that other people have had trouble with Apple's slow response to printer updates. Does anyone have any suggestions where I can go from here?
Thank you
