[title should say "printing to . . . ]
I am setting up a Linux pc running suse 10.0 as a file and print server. I can access the shared folders to store files on the linux pc, but I cannot see the printer. I have spent more than a day now trying to figure it out, but it only gets more confusing. I have the samba server set up in suse, and I can even see the linux pc in printer setup utility - I just can't see the printer. I have tried entering the linux address using IPP, but when I attempt to print from it, it says "connecting to 192.168.0.6 on port 631" for a long time and never does anything else. I have read all sorts of things on CUPS, but I still can't figure excatly what that is or how it works.
I would appreciate any advice
EDIT:
it is now showing up in system preferences, but not in printer utility. Nonetheless, it is working, I just don't know why or how. I think it might be connected via IPP ???
