Haven't seen much in the way of online postage advice here, so I figured I'd ask.

I'm finally making my first foray into the world of online postage, and I bought the Avery Internet Shipping Labels with two per sheet (#8126). The box says they work with the major shipping services, but how exactly does that happen?

Do I use one of their Word templates to do it? If that were the case, though, how would I handle something like USPS Click 'n Ship, which spits out a PDF? I couldn't print that using Preview without delving into custom sizes, since it doesn't recognize Avery labels...and besides, the dotted cut line that appears in the generated PDF infringes on the space of the adjacent label.

Or is there some awesome app everyone's using that I'm not aware of that lets you create, buy, and print from all major services directly using their APIs?

Help.

As far as using labels for printing, why waste the money? Just print on plain paper and cover it with packaging tape as I do. I find that many free apps for labels are PC based and Apple users must do with a work around or buck up. Where there is a will there is a way! There are apps that print labels for :apple: but they usually come at a premium.
Have you tried scaling the label down for printing so it doesn't infringe on the second label?

With all due warmth and respect gentlemen...

Your answers suggest that by using Mac OS we can't print Avery 8126 shipping labels. While printing on paper may be great advice in many sit.,
never the less, sometime we need to use these proprietary labels. After all it's a simple label divided down the middle of an 8.5X11 page. I do it all the time but tonight I'm on my fresh Brother Printer and pulling my hair out, because this should be utterly simple, but it isn't (or I had a stroke and didn't realize it).

It takes 1 minute to create a printing template in a spreadsheet.

One option is to print from the Avery site. It will import data from a variety of formats or data can be entered manually. http://enu.print.avery.com/SelectSku
