I have a printer that used to work wirelessly with my MacBook Air and iPad Air as well as the iPhone, but has since forgot it is a wireless printer since it is connected to my Mac mini by usb cable. Wondering if there is a way to print with a wired connection to the new iPad Pro 3rd generation or is that a lost cause? I would consider getting a new printer…. However I have multiple spare ink cartridges for this printer and would like to use them first.

Better yet, you can share the printer from your Mac and still print to it wirelessly from other devices on the same subnet.

I am not sure if iPadOS can print to IPP or SMB printers. I thought it required AirPrint.
I used to be able to print from my iPhone and my older iPads until my printer forgot how to do it wirelessly
