printing from photoshop CS4?

i have an epson 2200 and a mbp.
i used to print from windows and an older version of PS.
it's been a while...
what happened to the paper selections and ability to change resolution in printer preferences?
i used to print high res from windows and it would print small lines at a time...but it's only printing big bands and document quality images.
what should i do?
