Printing from Yosemite on Ricoh Aficio MP C2550

Does anyone know how to print from Yosemite to Ricoh Aficio MP C2550?

I have downloaded all the drivers I can possibly download. It did not show up in the printers/scanners preferences so I added it by IP address.

I press print and it says connecting then the printer is not responding.

This is a new printer for me, in a shared office space, so I'm not sure how to fix this.

Also, my Brother MFC-8710DW also stopped connecting to my imac today too! (2014 iMac). I'm so frustrated, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've never used such a thing but google tells me is PostScript. You can download the PPD from Ricoh_PS_Printers_Vol2_EXP_LIO_2.2.0.0.dmg

For many Postsript printers, when you add via IP address, you should select: HP Jetdirect Socket instead of IPP or PDP.

Yes....this is not an HP printer, but this is a printing protocol that is is simple and fast, and works well with many printers.

As for having to use an IP address, it is likely that the Bonjour protocol is not active on the printer, so the printer is not automatically discoverable on the network. Most printers support Bonjour, but some have it turned off by default. No problem using the IP....as long as it is not a DHCP address that is prone to change.
