Hi

Could anyone help am going crazy with Ventura and a Canon IP8750, all was fine on Big Sur then I upgrade to Ventura and its broken my printer flow.

I have been printing things for a project I have a MacBook Pro 16 m1 pro, the latest Canon Ventura driver and Latest Mac OS Ventura but these are the issues I'm having...

Printing from image garden using canons default driver Ventura ignores any setting made by the software and prints everything in draft.

Printing with generic feature enabled on my print driver, image garden will work but randomly then crashes loads of numbers on screen I have to then reload.

In apple Pages using the default driver and going from Canon match colour to Colour Sync option Pages locks up and beach balls I have to wait 30 odd seconds then to select a profile and then it beachballs again for another 30 seconds.

Odd occasion my print screen in pages will lock up solid and I have to load activity monitor and my CPU as at 100% I have to kill pages and reload it, I can't force quit as it locks up the apple menu.

Anyone else having issues like this? its maddening as I'm trying to get a project done!

Thanks guys.

No help, but sympathy. I have a similar problem with my Xerox. No matter what page size I set it always prints on letter. I’m wading knee deep in ruined prints here.

It’s extremely frustrating, I wished I never upgraded.

I think soon as this projects done with I shall roll back to Monterey.

Ventura is a terrible release and I hate the new settings menu, it feels slower to use to me scrolling up and down a list then seeing a well know icon in a grid and clicking it.

Also providing sympathy. Apple never seems to get printing down right and always falls back on "resetting the printing system" as a fix. I had to do this intermittently on my canon mf642cdw and it would always happen at the worst time. The printer would be fine one minute and the next it was unavailable until I reset. The only "fix" I have been able to find was to shutdown my printers wireless connectivity and hardwire it.

Printer Presets not saving / restoring:

Photoshop print dialogue, Color Sync issue causes double profiling

PS 24.1.1 / Ventura 13.2.1 (22D68)

In the print dialogue, under Printer Options / Color Matching the Color Sync setting is grayed out. In the following, the Default shows the radio button set to Color Sync as it should since PS will provide the ICC profile. The setting is copied to a new preset "Han Luster Sheet". When viewed, the new preset is no longer set to Color Sync, but to Epson Color Controls. This results in double profiling with colors grossly off. Since this dialog box is grayed out, it cannot be set back to Color Sync.

This is still occurring having deleted the printer in MacOS and via Epson's Uninstall, and then reinstalling.

As I was working with other vendors who have printing systems that operate outside of the Adobe environment, it seems there is a general failure to "remember" various preset settings:

...there are some bugs in the Apple print system in Ventura which can cause driver settings not to be remembered. This issue is not specific to [prduct name] but is a bug at the system level
.

This lead me to create a Monterey environment on a HDD with just Photoshop to be able
print without going crazy. Apple needs to step up.
