I have an Epson Workforce 635 printer and recently, out of the blue, it wasn't printing/responding & it wasn't showing up as a printer I could choose from any print dialog box. After cycling the power on/off with no change, I opened up system prefs and saw it was listed, but with a red dot. So I deleted the Epson & the Adobe Printer both & re-added them with the Epson as my default printer. That seemed to fix the problem.

However, now my print menu is changed. I used to have a great simple print settings menu allowing me to quickly choose from B&W Economy, B&W, Color & Color Economy. Now, I'm back to an older version where I have to choose paper type, print quality of fast economy, economy, normal, fine, photo & check grayscale separately.

The only thing I can think of that I changed is upgrading my Acrobat Pro X 10 to 10.1.16. So I uninstalled that, and reinstalled my original. Still no luck. Any suggestions as to what else I can check or maybe restore from Time Machine that might help?

I'm running the Epson via USB cable to a Mac Pro 5,1 with OSX 10.13.6 -- and yes, I know I have a lot of old equipment/software :)

The simplest rule is that most forget that most printers if it gets an IP just put that printer IP in your browser to see your printer’s wiki to change the printer!
