Question for you all,

My Parents just got a MBP and would like to be able to print highlighted texts from safari, mail, word, like you could back in the PC stages.

What are the solutions? Why is there not a option for this normally?

Is there a "print selection" option when you go to File/Print?

If there isn't for some reason, I guess worst case you could paste into another program like Word, and print from there.

THere is not a "Print Selection" Option... Surely Macs have this I can't see why they wouldn't.

To my knowledge there is no such feature in OS X ... I've been looking for two years now. It's surprised me that no one has even written a script for it. It's the only thing I still miss from Windows.

You can select text, copy it and then paste it into a text file and then print that though.

There are add-ons like Print Selection Service that add the option to your Services menu. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with all apps...only Cocoa apps can take advantage of it.
