A fellow photographer at work told me to check out Image Wizards (https://imagewizards.com) for making high-quality prints of my images.

They print aluminum images suitable for either stand-alone or traditional framing.

For $5 they will send you a 4x6" print of their stock image in all of their 5 finishes (glossy, semi-gloss, matte, brushed glossy, brushed matte).

For $100 they will print a 12" image you send them as a proof with each of the 5 finishes. These proofs are suitable for framing if you so desire (so it isn't just a loss of a hundred bucks assuming you like at least one of their treatments).

I sent off 3 images to them for proofs, 2 color and 1 B&W. Will be framing one of each.

I was really impressed with the prints. Absolutely gorgeous. The ability to see all 5 finishes of the same image at a decent size was incredibly helpful. Made it much easier to decide which finish we prefer.

While their site doesn't mention the optimal way to export files to send to them, I sent an email and received an immediate reply from both their general manager and their VP of sales. They prefer TIFF files in the Adobe color space at 300 ppi (selecting the target print size in inches when exporting from LR). The bigger the files the better, from their standpoint :). Can also send them 600 ppi files, .PSD files, or JPEG files (though the latter will suffer in image quality because they are JPEG files--might not be noticeable but they prefer highest quality source files to make the highest quality prints).

What really impressed me was that I received a phone call from them after submitting my email (I'd ordered sample proofs from them before, so they had my phone number). The call wasn't about selling me crap, but was instead a direct response from their VP of sales to my email asking about optimal export settings from LR. It was a really productive and enjoyable phone call. Neil has a background in photography and worked for Kodak. He not only intelligently answered my questions regarding optimal file output for their service, but also struck up a conversation about photography in general. It was very clear talking to him that he has a passion for photography in general and a specific passion to help people create the best prints possible from the files they upload.

I've never experienced this level of customer support before for anything, ever, in my life. For printing photos it was especially appreciated as the printing process is an art unto itself (Ansel Adams devoted an entire book to the printing process).

Image Wizards takes customer service very seriously and wants the customer to be involved in the printing process. They will send you proofs prior to final printing if you desire. They have a specialist who reviews your images and will contact you for any printing issues like out-of-gamut colors, blown out highlights, or muddy shadows if you so desire. I came away with a vibe that they really, really care about making sure that the final printed image meets the expectations of the customer.

Based on the 12" proofs I've received, the print quality is fantastic. Going to be placing an order with them soon to finally get some of my pics on the walls of our house :).

Wanted to share with others both for the quality of the prints and also for the phenomenal customer service.

Good to hear, and thanks for sharing. The only metal print I've tried so far was from MPix. I did a few prints for their desk stand product (I think 4x6, or somewhere around there) and they all looked a bit... blurred. Go figure, prints can't equal the detail we see on our retina displays, and I just figured that metal couldn't support the level of detail of even paper. But this makes me think maybe it's just them (or maybe it was something in my own export). I'll bookmark them and consider using them in the future. If their quality can match up to their prices then it's worth it.
