First let me say...

I have already done this successfully with one PC
laser printer using the built-in OS X System Preferences
utilities. Piece of cake.

I have tried the CUPS method. I do not know what
uname/pword combo it wants. There is only one account
on this machine and no password. That combination is
unacceptable to CUPS. Give me this info and I'll give
CUPS another shot.

Through the OS, when I get to the step of selecting the
driver from the list, the driver is not listed even though
I just installed it with the original driver disk from the
mfr.

Is there a way to get the printer driver I installed
to show up on the list of available drivers I am offered?

My other printer was in the list, connected just fine,
and I can print to it with no problemos.
