Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has dealt with the issue of a printer that only supports GDI printing, in my case a Panasonic DP-4530 copier, and trying to print to it from a Mac.
I have looked endlessly for supporting drivers, contacted Panasonic (who have tried to sell me on a $2000 post script module) and read numerous forums, all to little avail.
If anyone has any ideas or can push me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Thanks for that,

The DP-4520 is an equivalent model, which would work, but from what I have managed to gather, this one only has GDI printing, for PCL it also requires another module (or am I mistaken).

Is there any other work-around?

I entered the system settings of the machine and printed off the machine information, which said 'PCL Printing: NO'.

Maybe the more recently made printers have PCL inbuilt?

Privet Evgeny,

I also have a mac 10.5 and a Panasonic Workio DP-4530 and am endlessly looking for a solution.... did you find a way to print?

I've used all updates versions of gutenprint/foomatic/hpijs... and nothing. It's quite frustrating....

Does anyone have any idea how to get this printing?
Panasonic specs say that is supports these printing languages, so I don't know why 1. a gutenprint driver won't work 2. the panasonic drivers themselves won't work.

Thanks in advance everyone! :))

I've installed the gutenprint drivers, as well as the hpjis driver - but to no avail. I've also tried working with some CUPS add-ons, but that hasn't worked either.

Does anyone have any idea on how to get this printer going? :)
TIA
