I'm having a bit of trouble here printing to my HP PSC 750, which isn't good, as school is starting VERY soon. I have my PC connected to my wireless router, (a linksys), and the printer is plugged into the PC. With my iBook, I'm using the AE card to print wirelessly. (ICS and file sharing work just fine, BTW.) What I did was go to the Printer Setup thingy, and added the printer both ways. One way, I just used the Windows Printing and found my printer by navigating the network. Another way, I held down option, used SAMBA, etc. etc. When I try to print to the printer using either of these methods, the printer begins spooling, but then spits out a page that has this at the top of the first sheet:

%!PS-Adobe-3.0
%RBINumCopies: 1
%%Pages: (atend)
%APL_DSC_Encoding: UTF8
%%Title: (H

And then after that, it spools out empty sheets of paper until I press cancel. I can print fine from the PC, which is directly connected to the printer. (No way am I typing all my papers on a PC though...) I've installed Gimp-Print just for fun, but it didn't help. (I don't believe it had the right drivers either.) Does anybody PLEASE have a solution to this problem? I would very much appreciate any assistance!

It might also be helpful to add that I CAN print to the printer if my iBook is connected directly. (It just doesn't work running over the wireless network.) Do I need drivers or something?

USB printer? Does it have ethernet? If so, you can just share it on a closed network. Even if its USB, there are print servers that connect to Hubs, even airport express has USB built in... printing to windows printers are a hit and miss, are you using the drivers from HP or Gimp print? Looks like your sending Postscript to the windows system, in which case it probably doesn't know what to do with it...

Yea, it is a USB printer, but doesn't have ethernet. I don't want to purchase any additional network stuff, so it'd be nice to get this current setup working. I've checked the web a bit, and have heard multiple people talking about that Postscript stuff. If in fact the windows computer doesn't know what to do, would new drivers fix this problem? I believe I AM currently using HP drivers that came on a CD with the printer, but they're a year or so old. Because I can print from the PC but not from my Mac, (unless it's directly connected), am I correct in assuming that my iBook is attempting to print this thing Postscript-style and the PC doesn't? Other than that, I can't figure out why it won't print THROUGH the PC, but it will print to the printer normally. Thanks for the advice so far! :D

Yes, probably sending postscript, as that is what CUPS processes everything with, and depending on the driver, sends that Postscript into whatever proprietary stuff (why they all don't use PS???!!!) the printer wants. You might download some newer drivers from HP and see what you get. You also might ckeck here at www.macosxhints.com they have lots of hints and tips.
