Been running Printopia on our office network for about 18 months now. Have it installed on a 2012 MacMini server broadcasting 7 Konica Minolta copiers. AirPlay printing on bot iOS and OS X devices had been working flawlessly until one of the latest Printopia updates.

Now when anyone tries to print to a Printopia hosted AirPrint printer on a Mac, the job fails with the error "backend failed." iOS printing still works, and printing direct to the printers on the Mac Printopia is running on works fine.

I have tried updating the OS, installing the latest Printopia update, downgrading to the version of Printopia that used to work, installing the latest drivers for our Minolta copiers, using generic postscript/PCL drivers instead. No go. The problem is even happening with clean installs of everything including OS on different hardware. Result is always the same "backend failed," on the client machine and the print job never even reaches the Printopia server.
