Private Browsing In Safari 3

So I normally use Private Browsing all the time in Safari as I don't like there to be records of what I do.

It worked great there but now I keep getting logged out of:

MR
aSmallWorld
Facebook
and other login sites

It happens very often and dont really know why, I tried logging in when PB was off but the same thing happens.

Does anyone have a solution?

I'm not sure what you mean by getting "logged off of" (how its happening), but if you sit idle for a certain amount of time (sometimes just 5 minutes) of all of those webpages you automatically get logged out so that if you were at a public computer some one couldn't get in as you in case you forgot to log off.

Is this the Safari 3 Beta or Safari 3 Final? And when did you notice this?

MR (if by that he means MacRumors) does NOT log me out, at least not in Firefox. I can be logged on for days on end wihtout ever being logged out. However, many other sites do log you out automatically, and Safari 3 could also be the issue (with or without PB).

Hmm..., do you have the remember me box checked, do you clear all private data when closing FF? MR logs me out automatically all the time when I sit idle for 5-10 minutes.

Yes I do have the box checked and it happens every so often. It is really weird sometimes it doesnt do it but Facebook is the worst. I cant stay logged in for more than 3 different pages.

You may be the first person I know that uses PB all the time. I can understand when logging into sites that could cache personal info, but not so paranoid that I need to Private Browse every single site I go to, unless of course one is trying to hide those naughty searches from their wife

Not had that issue thus far but don't use private for log-in sites.
I imagine it's something to do with the way Safari is treating the cookies used to auto log-in, perhaps it's trashing them.

Private Browsing mode probably restricts websites' cookie use and access. Sites like Facebook with persistent login make heavy use of cookies to know who you are.

As I understand it, private browsing is "more private" (i.e. more restricted) in Leopard than it was in Tiger. There were a few things that weren't being cleared properly. I don't recall the details though, so I could easily be wrong.
