Private Browsing?

What exactly does private browsing do in Safari 4? Is it just so no one can see what sites you have been visiting? Is it safer? Should it be used when purchasing items online?

its only safer if your computer can be accessed by other people. if you are sure you are the only one that is using your computer, and there is no hack attack your computer and try to acquire your files, then private browsing is mostly useless.

I totally agree with clevin.

as far as pr0n goes. that is totally up to you.. my exs' were fine with that.
