Private message?

Does this forum support Private Message?
and also I added someone to my buddy list and I don't really see what it does, they only appear as a name on my buddy list(no links or anything).

You have to have a post count of at least 5
And be a member for 1 day

From the FAQ

Once you satisfy those conditions, it will take a little while for the servers to recognize the changes in your status

Users on your Buddy List will show up highlighted when you use the Forum Spy
