Where bunnies are welcome.
During a thread, I had a question about why a member provided different info than I gave someone. I decided to PM him to ask why he gave the info. In response he told me not to question his posts and not to waste my time PMing him. Did I do something wrong here? I really want to know.

You didn't do anything wrong, really. It's kinda like calling somebody you don't know, maybe they will talk to you, maybe they will hang up. :)

Was I supposed to question him in the thread? I almost got the impression that to question him at all is beneath him. Soooo, in the meantime, I don't know exactly why he told the OP what he did and can't ask in the thread. I always feel like

Deleted....I don't think I should put what I had here, since it'll let you know who I talked to.

And I consider him one of the more respectable members of the forum from what I've seen of his posts.

Edit: And I wasn't saying he didn't know his facts.
vvvvvvvvvvv

LMAO, thats funny! :D

No, you did nothing wrong aggie. ;)

Meh PM'ing a stranger can go one of two ways. I made one of the best friends I could have PM'ing a stranger and managed to figure out how nutty could be by PM'ing someone else. It's a gamble. You did nothing wrong.

Aggie, buck up kiddo, it's ok. ;)
i have no issue pming posters who dont know their facts
I know. :) That is why I delete them without reading them. :p

You did nothing wrong. However, there are some real ***holes on here. Questioning respectfully in public allows the rest of us to see the information was incorrect. And if the person goes all mental/abusive on you on the thread, the rest of us can see what an ***hole he/she is and the moderators can discipline them.

Okay, will do.

And jessica, I'm sure I'm older than you, "kiddo." :)

Thanks, guys (in the generic sense). but for dukebound, thanks guys and gals!

Question him in the thread. Then you have witnesses. ;)
If it pertains to the OP's discussion, I usually ask politely why?

I figure that it is good for discussions sake.

Very funny, doc! I really don't know what to do, actually.
No worries.

Edit: It would've been better if he just told me I was stupid or something (and why I was stupid, so at least I know in the future).
Actually, you can not insult other members on the forum, so he would be in violation if he called you stupid or said that you were stupid.

Anyhow, I wouldn't worry about it. And the next time, I would suggest making a polite inquiry on the thread that you are reading.

jessica. never loses; why bother betting.
fixed. :D

Um.....OK, I've just GOT to ask. Aggie, do you have a life? I've noticed that you've been posting like crazy ever since you joined MR, which was only last month. Good grief!
this could be said about so many users, including myself, after a certain date in time. I found that my job bored me and left me in front of a computer. Mac Rumors was more productive then addictinggames.com.

How do I even win responding to that? Yes, I have a life. I like this site a lot. For the most part, it's interesting and I think I help some people, while learning things as well. Other times, it's a lot of fun. I'm sure my enthusiasm will gradually dwindle, but for now it's a good sideline to my crappy job. I'm also planning on becoming a developer, so I'm glad I found this site.
