Would a camera lens bumper like this introduce any camera-related compromises?

I figured that the plastic protectors you apply on the lenses distort images. The bumper I linked above does not cover the lenses and flash, and protects the protruding lenses from bumps. But would there be something affected as a result?

The only potential issue i can think of is that some cases may not fit.

OP, I think the SPIGEN one actually cover the lens. The only ones I've found to only cover the module, are 3M film like dBrand.

I think you’re right. Damn, the images are very deceiving.
Yes they are! I hate it! And I genuinely wish there were better options for just covering the camera module. There's so much dust and junk that builds up around the lens.

Exactly what I was thinking this morning when I looked at the cameras and saw all of the crap that was in there. I need a clear one so that at least some of my purple shows through. ;)

I'm also curious about the Ringke, but apprehensive about applying anything to the phone that requires adhesive.

I agree. Ideally I want a clear case with something like that already built in, and MagSafe, but there doesn’t seem to be such a case in the market.

The Ringke camera bumper is here and I’m impressed. It has a 3M adhesive on the back, like most skins, so I’m not concerned about residue.
The installation was easy and the fit with my Apple Leather case is perfect. Because of the height, I think I’ll need to be careful when taking off the case to ensure it doesn’t pull the bumper off. I really like how it fills that space around the camera and I’m curious to see how it’ll fare with scratches and lint. Thanks @Synomenon for the find. I have one and find the best way to take cases off is to hold with one hand, fingers of the other pulling the top whilst pushing on the camera cover.
