Hi,

I’m looking into the Pro Display XDR as I’ve wanted one for ages and would like it as a one solution monitor with correct scaling, high resolution etc. not fussed about 120Hz just screen image quality.

However, my main reservation is: are we in a window now where it just would not be sensible to drop all that money on a monitor when a new one could come out in the next 12 months and then within 5 years or so Apple will label it ‘obsolete’ and stop supporting/servicing it? I have these horrible image of me buying it, being really happy with it and then like 4-5 years later it breaks and not be able to get it fixed 😂. I know Apple displays traditionally last a long time but what are your thoughts for someone who is thinking of purchasing in 2024.

Thanks

I would wait for next iteration. Perhaps it will have a FaceTime camera and speakers. Otherwise, I’d buy used.
