My last qualcomm iphone was the 6s plus. Have since had the 8 plus and XR.
Looking forward to finally getting my pro max on friday after years of dropped calls, dropped data, 3g/4g flipping.
My 6s plus used to hold calls and data like a champ.

If the modem lives up to expectations i can see myself keeping this phone for at least 2 years

Like you I’m coming from an XR to the Pro Max. My plan is to keep it for 3 years. Roughly $1/day + trade in value

I’ll be thrilled if the new qualcomm modem delivers solid network performance. Unfortunately I think most of the problema lies with the mobile operators

I must be the only guy getting good solid reliable performance from my intel. Johnny is right, most of the blame goes to your service provider. If you don’t update iOS then some of the blame can go to you too since there has been plenty of modem updates.

That's great, but it's also clear that the improvements in the iPhone 12 system will make things even better.

Edited. I posted that reception didn't seem any better, but maybe that doesn't matter. The video in this thread are interesting. Reception (which wan't any better for me in the metro Boston suburbs than reception with the 11 Pro) doesn't seem to be affect actual speed directly. Very interesting video.
