My brand new 11 pro max just shut down giving me the ”Temperature / iphone needs to cool down before you can use it” . It’s only 64 degree in my office sitting on my desk with no case on it and cool to the touch??? I powered it off and turned it back on after and its up and running now. What should I do?

Possible app pegging it out. I would see if it happens again and if it does be cognizant of what apps you were using. But I agree, thermal shut is a big deal, I would take it in and have them look at it just in case.

Three week old phone. First Lady I talked to at apple support: “ oh, looks like you did not purchase apple care so you will have to take it to your local apple store... “ I asked for a supervisor and he is helping re-flash the phone and restore it. My love / hate relationship with Apple continues....
Does anyone know how the tempeture sensor works? The tech is telling me that this is most likely a software issue and my phone was not on the xx.3 newest version of iOS.

I would also look at battery usage during that time nd also agree with the others to take it into apple

You talked to Melania Trump about this??

If you have an Apple Store close by. Take it in.

Um what? "Only" 64 degrees? Do you have an oven in your office or something?

I think OP means Fahrenheit.

This is really not normal. The only time I got that warning on my iPhone was when I was shooting a video and the phone was on my MacBook near the fans. (So MacBook was blowing hot air directly to the phone)
It could be a sensor issue.

You have 60 days from the time you purchase your iPhone to put AppleCare on it I wouldn’t have even taken it to the Apple store first I would’ve put it on Apple care then waited a week and then taken it in
