I wrote a post immediately after ordering went live regarding the default shipping date of 09/25 vs ISPU of 09/19.
Being that this is the third major launch day snafu of Apple’s own doing, I resorted to my previous resolution…which I’ll leave unstated.
What is important is that the Executive Team contacted me shortly thereafter regarding the issue.
The contents of the discussion are not important…the important part is that Apple recognized there was in fact an objective problem, which I spoke of in my aforementioned post, with the orders that should have had a 09/19 shipping date.
I received a second phone call from the Executive Team stating that they have resolved the issue with my order and subsequently changed the delivery date to 09/19. During the discussion, it was alluded to that Apple is also attempting to correct the issue for other applicable customers.
Please do not accept my situation as applicable to yours, as there is no way to identify where other orders fell in the que…but, some of you that experienced the default shipping date issue should see your orders change to a 09/19 delivery.

Happens almost every launch, most have already been switched to launch day as well.
Folks have had shipping dates moved in previous years, but Apple has NEVER had different default dates for shipping vs ISPU for orders that were completed at such time that would have otherwise had the same date for delivery or ISPU.

I just wanted to say that even though I decided to sit this launch out, I do empathize with a lot of people that have had some major issues while ordering from Apple today. I do hope that Apple fixes that for everyone, because they definitely should.

I will say that one thing I have done when I have purchased iPhones on launch day in the past is that I have found that it is sometimes best to zig when everyone else zags. And what I mean by that is, I usually don't purchase through Apple and purchase through Best Buy.

I realize that this isn't an option for those in other countries, but even in other countries there is usually a couple of alternatives other than Apple to purchase through. Interestingly, and just for giggles, I went on Best Buy's website right now and found that I can order a iPhone 17 PM Cosmic Orange, 256GB, which seems to the option so many people want, and I can guarantee pickup on launch day the 19th.

Since so many people only go through Apple, place like Best Buy or the carriers themselves, often are much better options and usually involve much less stress.

You would think Apple would be more mindful of problems like you have described on launches of major products like this, but it does seem to happen every year, as another poster mentioned.

My iup pro max blue 512 was just updated in the Apple Store app from the 25 to the 19. Ordered a couple minutes after they went live

Thanks for letting Apple know about the exact same issue I had.

Currently I have 2 orders in and one will be returned all because Apple could not issue a 9/19 delivery for those of us who pre-selected, pre-authorized payment, and was up at 5am.

I felt like I came to the event a week later attempting to get launch day delivery....
