I've got a Dual 1.25 GHz G4 with the port for the "pro" speakers that are clear ball-shaped. I'd like to run audio out to these speakers while also running audio out to an A/V receiver. I'm having doubts that this is possible, and it's annoying that Apple didn't make it so.

I suppose I could get a USB audio device to use for the A/V receiver. I've thought about just splitting the signal after the 1/8" output, but the speakers have a funky weird connection.

Anyone run into this and find a workaround?

I think USB is your only option....i wouldn't try plugging a minijack into the pro speaker out... funky results, i'm sure.

yeah, my "solution" was to route a mini plug to the front of the G4 (it has a front audio headphone output as well) and just unplug it when I wanted the pro speakers working.
