When you order Apple Care for a new mac you get a physical shipment of the AppleCare documents. These are shipped from a warehouse in your own country and have to merge with the shipment from China (because its a BTO). This causes a slight 1-2 day delay on you receiving your new Macbook.

Alternatively you can just order the Macbook and then when you receive it, just call AppleCare and add it onto the Macbook.

Just thought I would give you a heads up.

I always do this for a different reason, sometimes you get a defective machine and you want a replacement or your money back. So it just makes sense to hold off on getting Apple Care until you're happy with what you've received and know you're keeping it.

I got the AppleCare papers in the mail a few days after I received my BTO MBA a few years ago. I think the papers came later on my stock config. Mac Mini as well.
