I eye the page for Motion every once in a while because it's been on my wishlist forever, but when I was checking it out today (looking for Intel info) I saw that "Motion is now exclusively available as part of the Final Cut Studio Suite." Same for Soundtrack Pro and even DVD Studio Pro 4 when I went to their pages. I wonder what this means... Will Motion 3 / Soundtrack Pro 2 and DVD Studio 5 come in individual versions again I wonder? April's the big month for pro app updates, right?
What I'd really like to see Apple due is establish a "Final Cut Express Studio" with cut-down versions of Motion, Soundtrack Pro and DVD Studio Pro bundle at a prosumer friendly price ($500 Cdn with a v. nice edu discount), with an upgrade price for previous FCE owners. These apps used to be available to FCE users at a reasonable price but they're now officially unpurchasable (is that a word?) for us FCErs. I wonder what Apple has up it's sleeve to accomodate that, given there was no FCE update at Macworld this year and (as far as I know) it isn't a universal binary yet.
