The title, if it makes sense, says it all. I have three Mac Pros - a 2019 and two 2009s. One of those I want to share the monitor with. The other one I’ll just network. What I need is a Switcher that will work with the pro XDR display, since it doesn’t have any hdmi inputs. I’m a little confused as to how I can hook this up switching between the two macs. The way I’d like to do it is just to hit a button that switches between the two Macs. Can anyone direct me to a Switcher that will fill my needs? Thank you.

What it sounds like you need is a KVM switch. I have no recommendations, but an Amazon search would probably give you a bunch of options... you just have to find one that works with the Thunderbolt 3 port on the XDR.

Yes. The reason I ask is because apparently there are a lot of KVM switches that don’t work. I’ve found a thread here that’s unwieldy. Trying to navigate through it to find a few that are compatible apparently isn’t easy. But thank you.

same situation here, and again have found the existing threads difficult to follow (especially with US / UK Amazon differences ...)

I'd like to alternate between two Macs to one monitor, ideally pressing a hardware button on a KVM switch:
  • Mac Mini M2
  • Macbook Pro M1
  • Magic Keyboard
  • Magic Trackpad
  • LG 5K monitor - 4x USB-C and no HDMI or DP inputs ...
No such beast appears to exist! I've had Universal Control running okay - but not consistently yet - to use the Keyboard & Trackpad across both machines as long as they're both turned on. Swapping the USB-C monitor input cable between them is getting old already.
