Problem Accessing Camera Roll with Windows Explorer

Hey everyone,

I want to access my 3600 photos from windows explorer so that I can select large chuncks to delete, instead of using something like the scanner and camera wizard, or the iPhone's delete system.
I know that it can be done as I managed to do it before (but windows explorer crashed because I had too many programs open :/), but when I click on the iPhone symbol in My Computer nothing shows up.

ps. I am using windows XP and i currently have iOS 5.0.1 installed.
