Problem after updating to Safari 4.0.2

So, I have just updated to the newest Safari update along with the iTunes new update all together through Software update.

Now, Safari, Yahoo messanger, Skitch and iTunes online functions are all not working while the applications do startup.

Currently I have firefox as the default browser, but the problem remains, firefox and Adium both work, though.

What could this be? Is it connected to the Safari update or something else?

Check the proxy settings and delete as necessary.
