problem burning

hey guys i have been getting problems when it comes to burning discs.

everytime i try to burn a disc with toast, i get a error message that won't go away.

and when i try to burn a disc with burn. i get a message that my disc is not compatible with my drive or try burning at a lower speed.

but here is where i don't understand; i can read discs, and rip discs and copy files of my backups, i just can't burn to discs.

any ideas?
