problem changing icons

So I am trying to change the icons of my usb flash drives to match new ones I am using for my hard drive. I previously was using some other custom icons. However, when I go to replace it with the new icon, I can delete the old custom icon and get it back to the default, but when I go to paste the new icon on there, it restores the old custom one, instead of the new one I wanted.

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Try pasting the new one on top of the old one instead of deleting it.
