my pc goes in to sleep mode after a few mins if i dont use it but this stops my touch from charging. how can i charge the touch when the pc is asleep or how can i stop the pc from sleeping?

Either disable sleep mode on the PC (I forget how to do this on Windows), get a wall charger, or try a firewire iPod cable.
