Problem connecting iPad VPN over Orange Sim UK

I have an iPad with an Orange Data sim and I want to connect to a VPN when I'm out and about over 3G. I have the tunnel end point defined and the connection works when using a WiFi connection, logging me on and giving access. However, when I try to connect over Orange 3G the connection fails to establish, showing 'starting' then reporting 'a connection could not be established...'. I have two VPN's defined to different locations and neither work on Orange 3G.

If I use a borrowed O2 sim, then voila, all is okay.

Orange say the issue is with the remote location.

I have the same problem. The VPN connection succeeds the moment I have a Wifi connection, but not on an Orange 3G sim. Time to get myself an O2 3G sim...
